Forever Chemicals Make Britain's Rivers Toxic

Britain's Rivers as well as it's coastline are amongst the most polluted in the whole of Europe.

This new video centres on the country's rivers and the toxicity of the water, polluted with 'forever Chemicals' which are chemicals that can take hundreds of years to break down and to become less toxic. These are industrial and pharmaceutical chemicals majority of which are human-made!

These chemicals, classed as PFAS ( Per-and Polyfluorinated Substances ) can cause damage to human DNA and are cancer causing to humans and deadly to animals and marine life that live in our rivers.

They are a group of chemicals used to make fluoropolymer coatings and products that resist heat, oil, stains, grease, and water. Fluoropolymer coatings can be in a variety of products, many of which can be found in our homes.

The British Government ever since Brexit, have dropped the EU standards on water pollution and the funding and enforcement resource to DEFRA. Indeed there is substantial evidence that both Government departments responsible for maintaining and enforcing environmental standards are not pro-active and in cahoots with industry in hiding the true nature and levels of pollution in the country's rivers and waterways.

ENDS Report and Watershed Investigations join volunteers from across the United Kingdom to uncover the toxic truth about PFAS pollution.

Ends say on their website:

'PFAS (Forever Chemicals) have been building up in the natural environment – and even our own bodies – for decades. They are linked to cancers, hormone-related diseases, obesity and fertility issues in humans, and similar health issues in wildlife.

But where is this pollution coming from and how much of it is flowing into our rivers and out to sea?
